UK smart meter firm IMServ has signed a new strategic partnership with British Gas Business, becoming the supplier’s preferred metering partner.
The agreement expands the companies’ previous partnership which has seen them install thousands of smart meters in recent years.
“It’s fantastic to be strengthening and deepening our relationship with Centrica. The partnership enables two leading companies to combine to create better, emissions-cutting solutions for customers,” said Steve Brown, MD of IMServ.
“Centrica has a huge client base, and we’ll be working with them to help analyse energy consumption and make it more efficient and less emissions-intensive.”
The deal follows ex-British Gas CEO Ian Peters being appointed as chairman at IMServ at the end of September to help drive the company’s next phase of growth.
Peters’ appointment was the company’s first major announcement since it was acquired by private equity firm Bluewater in September.
IMserv provides electricity metering services, including the installation and management of smart and advanced meters, data services and visualisation services.
Mitch Donnelly, head of business energy at British Gas Business, added: “Centrica Business Solutions are delighted to partner with IMServ, together we aim to provide an affordable, sustainable and simpler experience to our customers.”
