EVBox has unveiled its latest DC fast charging station – the EVBox Troniq Modular – to the European market.
The EVBox Troniq Modular is aimed at businesses such as charging service providers looking to invest in electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure that maximises their revenue streams and grows with the operations, with the upgradeable power modules allowing businesses to have a power output of up to 240kW with 30kW power modules.
The charger allows multiple vehicles to charge at the same time, resulting in reduced waiting times. It also offers a multi-language touchscreen, auto-retractable cables, guiding LED top lights and wheelchair accessibility.
Making EV chargers accessible for disabled drivers was an issue highlighted in a Zap-Map survey released in December 2020, with this finding that a third of disabled drivers have difficulties locating a suitable charger that could meet their needs.
Alongside the other features, the EVBox Troniq Modular charger is compatible with every EV, with the station able to connect to any OCPP-compliant backend.
It follows the company launching the EVBox Troniq 100 ultra-fast chargers with an output of up to 100kW in January 2020 as well as the redesign of its high-powered charging EVBox Ultroniq with an output of up to 350kW.
In February 2021, the company launched the Everon Business Portal, offering real-time insights into charging station health, charging patterns and energy consumption of EVs.
Current± recently caught up with Jonathan Goose, regional director of UK and Ireland at EVBox, to discuss the need for this new platform as well as the company’s partnership with YourParkingSpace offering EV drivers pre-bookable park and charge spaces across the UK.
