Renewable energy utility Good Energy has partnered with telecoms provider BT in a bid to grow its domestic customer base.
The deal will see BT staff and customers offered substantially discounted tariffs in an attempt to entice them to switch to a fully-renewable supply.
Good said the discounts could amount to as much as £130 annually, which would make its dual fuel tariff for a standard home roughly £68 cheaper than standard variable tariffs on offer from the ‘Big Six’.
Having undergone a thorough overhaul of its customer-facing management system last year, Good Energy has targeted an expanded client base from which to grow its core business operation.
Juliet Davenport, chief executive at Good Energy, said the deal had the potential to see the utility expand its reach by “tens of thousands” of new customers.
Niall Dunne, chief sustainability officer at BT Group, added: “BT already uses renewable energy and aims to go 100% renewable globally by 2020 and partnering with Good Energy allows us to give our customers the opportunity to be responsible too.”
Earlier this week Good Energy revealed that it had raised more than £10 million from its second corporate bond offer which it is to invest in pursuing a new strategy which will take it into the storage and EV sectors.
