Cambridge-based plumbing and electrical contractor, Huttie, has created a new Renewable Energy Division of its business.
The new unit will be headed up by Jim Harvey, who previously held roles as head of renewable energy at Mark Group and head of market intelligence at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
The company says that it set up the division to help meet the growing demand for renewable energy in its hometown of Cambridge. Huttie will focus on solar PV, solar thermal, air source heat pumps and biomass technologies. The company will design, supply, install and commission for customers.
James Hutt, managing director at Huttie, added: ”We are excited about the new opportunities to help our clients in renewable energy installation and design, and delighted to have appointed a new director of renewable energy, Jim Harvey, who joins us with a wealth of experience in this new industry.”
Commenting on his new role, Harvey said: ”I am delighted to head up the new Renewable Energy Division as director and look forward to strong growth and a positive future helping our clients, big and small. l have a passion for working with the best in renewable energy design, installation and service.”
Huttie claims that conserving and generating energy is becoming increasingly important to companies looking to improve their bottom line. Likewise, domestic customers are looking to improve their homes by taking advantage of government incentives to help cut emissions.
