Narendra Modi, India’s Prime Minister, will not attend the upcoming UN-hosted climate summit in New York in September.
Despite US President Obama being there to deliver a keynote speech to more than 70 world leaders, Modi will decline to join them.
His spokepeople site the fact that the summit will not feature any actual negotiations such as there will be at the Lima and Paris summits over the next 12 months.
