The UK’s gas and electricity networks are inviting all energy stakeholders, innovators and pioneers to join them on 16-17 October for the eighth annual Low Carbon Network Innovation (LCNI) Conference sponsored by Cadent at The International Centre, Telford.
As innovation in energy is moving so quickly, this is the best place for the energy world and beyond to come together to share ideas, best practice and look to take a whole systems approach to shape the future energy landscape.
This year, for the first time ever, selected SMEs and start-ups will take part in a Dragon’s Den event on the afternoon of the 17 October. The winner or winners will be selected by a panel of judges, and will receive £10,000 to develop further a full proposal for a Network Innovation Allowance project.
Innovate UK and Energy Networks Association’s Dragons’ Den-style session will be one of the highlights of this year’s Conference programme and the competition is a great opportunity for everyone involved. Judges are looking forward to seeing the creative and innovative ideas from the SMEs. The eventual winner or winners will receive funding to help them to further develop a full proposal for a Network Innovation Allowance (NIA) project.
The LCNI is bringing together in one place all the UK’s gas and electricity network companies, Government, regulators and the key industry spokespeople from across the country to provide attendees with a unique opportunity to engage and shape electricity and gas network innovation.
Contributors this year include senior representatives of the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Ofgem, Energy Systems Catapult, Imperial College, Newcastle University and Strathclyde University.
The 2018 event will offer a unique opportunity for innovators: to raise their profile, develop relationships, gain insight into the needs of the UK’s gas and electricity network operators and seek funding opportunities. The innovation showcase zone will also provide a great position for SMEs to exhibit their innovative solutions for the industry at a major UK event.
Energy network companies are active across the UK and they make sure that communities, households and businesses benefit from our activity. This event is a must-attend conference for anyone with an interest in that. We look forward to warmly welcoming attendees to be part of it.
