NAPIT training has released an electric vehicle (EV) training ‘taster’ video, designed to help those considering moving into the EV space.
The training body expects EVs to rise in popularity on the back of positive news for the industry and the immediate need to decarbonise our transport system, resulting in increased charging point installation work.
Last year, sales of EVs doubled in Europe. NAPIT calculates that, should EV sales hold the same pace, EV sales could account for 15% of all new car sales in the EU. NAPIT points to EV versions of the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf as proof that the technology is starting to enter the mainstream conscious.
The training body also believes that the government’s ‘Go Ultra Low’ campaign, which will see ministers transported to official appointments in EVs, will prove significant as 150 EVs are introduced into the government fleet with charging points installed on Downing Street.
The video was filmed at the NAPIT EXPO 2014 where visitors could attend a selection of free taster sessions.
