German inverter manufacturer Solutronic is showcasing its new Solenergy DC storage system at this year’s Solar Energy UK.
The company claims that the DC storage system is one of the first complete storage systems in the world to have all components come from one manufacturer.
The system is suitable for both on- and off-grid applications and is available in three different sizes with 4kWp, 5kWp and 6kWp-sized inverters paired with an integrated battery charger which is combined with modular energy storage between 3.1kWh and 12.4kWh.
SoluTronic states that the system is designed to integrate well with generating technologies such as solar PV, with the system able to relieve the public grid of energy when renewables peak and add energy when consumption peaks.
TÜV-SÜD in Munich, Germany recently approved the SPICA-25 storage module according to safety standards EN 62619.
SoluTronic estimates that the storage system will have a lifetime of 20 years, or around 5,000 cycles.
