Motor Fuel Group (MFG) has opened its first all-electric vehicle (EV) charging station, with eight 150kW ultra-fast chargepoints.
It is part of a wider rollout of EV charging sites between MFG and its power infrastructure partner Energy Assets Networks (EAN), with the two to have partnered on 30 by the end of the year.
MFG has further plans in place for "hundreds more" EV charging sites as part of its dual-fuel strategy to combine its traditional fuel services with EV charging.
The all-EV site, which was previously a carwash centre and is located in Stretford, Manchester, also features a retail convenience store, food to go, restroom and vehicle valeting facilities.
“Electric vehicle ownership is on a rapid upward curve, reflecting both consumer demand for lower carbon technologies and growing confidence in charging network availability resulting from investment in services by leading operators such as MFG," said Symon Gray, head of networks at EAN.
