Despite a last-minute watering down due to Chinese and Indian protests, COP26 still closed with commitments to phase down coal and rapidly deploy renewable energy generators.

With much of the firm legislative action kicked into next year’s COP in Egypt, there are still question marks over how much COP26 president Alok Sharma, and indeed the summit in general, achieved.
