Shell energy has announced Tony Keeling will be taking over as CEO of Shell Energy Retail from Ed Kamm, who will step down in January for personal reasons after nine years at the company.
Keeling has two decades of experience in the energy sector, including working as COO and then managing director of SSE Retail, which included leading SSE through its integration with OVO Energy.
Following this, he joined the executive committee of NHS Test and Trace in May, overseeing the Trace Division, as well as its integration with Public Health England more recently.
Colin Crooks, VP New Energies Europe, said he was pleased to welcome Keeling to the role, adding that his “experience in energy retail and customer centric approach will be valuable additions as we focus on supporting households’ transition to net zero emissions.”
“I’d also like to thank Ed for his fantastic leadership during his many years with First Utility and then Shell Energy. His enthusiasm and experience have been huge assets to the business and we wish him well in future.”
Shell Energy took on an additional 22,000 domestic energy customers from shuttered supplier Goto Energy in October, as well as having taken on customers from Colorado and Daligas as suppliers continue to exit the market amidst high power prices.
