Renewable generation cut the UK’s gas consumption by 85TWh since October

The latest figures from the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit’s (ECIUs) Winter Power Tracker, show that renewables generated 42TWh of electricity between 1 October 2022 and 10 February 2023, negating the need for 85TWh of gas.

Academics call for government to exit treaty that will prolong UK’s dependence on fossil fuels
