Emma Pinchbeck has today (6 July) taken up her new role of CEO of Energy UK.
She is taking over from interim CEO Audrey Gallacher, who replaced Lawrence Slade after he departed the trade body in December 2019.
It was announced in January that Pinchbeck would be filling the role; she is starting on part-time basis after having been on maternity leave. Pinchbeck will become full-time in September.
Prior to joining Energy UK, Pinchbeck was deputy CEO of RenewableUK from 2016-2020, as well as sitting on the trade body’s Board and the Board of Scottish Renewables.
She said she was “excited” to be starting and thanked Gallacher for “doing such a fantastic job of steering Energy UK through a very challenging period”.
Gallacher will now become deputy chief executive and director of policy.
“I know that Energy UK has been very proud to represent this industry as their trade body, working closely with government to cope with the economic and other consequences of COVID-19,” Pinchbeck said.
“We will continue to push hard for our members and for the resilient low carbon economy that they are calling for. There can be no green recovery without the energy sector.
