The Committee on Climate Change (CCC) has rebuked the government for failing to deliver a pipeline of decarbonisation policies across several sectors, stressing that the time for it to address climate matters is running out.
Today the Committee on Climate Change has delivered its verdict on the government’s Clean Growth Strategy, ultimately calling for more urgent action or risk failing to meet its statutory climate targets.
The UK government must issue firmer, more ambitious decarbonisation policies as a “matter of urgency” if it is to meet its fourth and fifth carbon budgets.
