Belltown Power has submitted plans for its Leithenwater Wind Energy Hub, which has co-located storage, to the Energy Consents Unit of the Scottish Government.

Utility OVO Energy has partnered with a community-owned wind project in Bristol to highlight the potential of community-driven renewable energy projects.

To date, the UK has installed more than 14 GW of onshore wind energy and has a pipeline of planned projects totaling 23 GW. During the second quarter of 2023, there was the highest quarterly capacity submitted into planning so far, suggesting significant future growth of wind developments.

A poll commissioned by electric utility company, Community Windpower Ltd, showed that 41% of the nationally representative sample of 1,000 UK adults disagreed with the proposed Electricity Generator Levy (EGL).
