The UK government has continued to build support behind electric vehicles after announcing £40 million in funding for UK cities around the country to develop new infrastructure for ultra low emission vehicles.
This follows growing private sector activity after Nissan announced new investment in the development of EV batteries at its manufacturing base in Sunderland.
