Motor Fuel Group (MFG) has become the latest to sign up to electric vehicle (EV) charging payment interoperability service Zap-Pay.
Launched by Zap-Map last year, Zap-Pay now has five charging networks signed up. With the new deal in place, MFG and Zap-Map have now begun work on the integration required to set up MFG as a full-fledged Zap-Pay partner, with this expected to be complete by the end of September.
MFG’s charging network currently consists of over 40 rapid and ultra-rapid charging devices at service stations across the UK. The company has plans to invest £400 million over the next ten years in 3,000 ultra-rapid 150kW and 350kW EV charging devices.
In October 2019 IONITY installed two 350kW chargers at a Scottish forecourt owned by MFG, laying claim to the fastest charging station in the country.
“As a dynamic and expanding network with strategically placed ultra-rapid charge points, MFG makes a fantastic addition to the Zap-Pay partner network, one that will make EV charging that much more attractive for Zap-Map users,” said Alex Earl, commercial director at Zap-Map.
Zap-Pay is designed to simplify the payment process of EV charging, being a single-app payment system that uses a credit or debit card to pay for charging.
Other networks to have signed up to the service include both char.gy and GeniePoint.
