EV charging management software developer AMPECO has scooped the 2022 Global Electric Vehicle Charging Software Product Leadership Award at Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices Awards.
The company’s solution is designed to allow high-growth customers to manage chargers as they scale fast. The cloud-based platform is a white-label, hardware-agnostic solution, which covers all EV charging business cases.
As well as allowing for efficient EV charger network management, the platform is also able to address energy management challenges.
It facilitates demand response and distributed energy automation with OpenADR, connecting homes and businesses with utilities to manage power fluctuations by adjusting consumption in response to grid demand.
The solution is designed to integrate with smart meters, building management systems and renewable energy solutions to maximise efficiency.
AMPECO customers fully own their business, including having complete control over customer relations, partnerships and payment flows, a highly valuable element for large-scale EV charging providers.
“Businesses can rely on extensive out-of-the-box features to cover public, private, and fleet charging in one software platform,” said Robert Camm, senior consultant at Frost & Sullivan.
“For companies with complex business models or those wanting to build a custom user experience around a specific charging use case, AMPECO provides a comprehensive API solution.”
As countries around the world push towards carbon neutrality, an efficient push towards the electrification of transport will be key. In 2020, passenger cars accounted for a staggering 41% of the 2.7 billion metric tons of CO2 produced for example.
EVs offer a viable, pragmatic solution to decarbonising transport, but while both the market for vehicles and the charging infrastructure is growing, the infrastructure is struggling to keep up with demand.
Increasingly businesses are looking to install chargepoints and make the switch to an electrified fleet to help decarbonise, but the software required to operate an EV charging network or provide users with an application to access and pay for charging is highly complex.
Because of the pace of innovation, AMPECO noted, many find it unfeasible to build and maintain in-house EV charging management solutions. Therefore its all-in-one market-ready solution can offer key support for businesses developing and launching their EV charging operations.
Market research firm Frost & Sullivan launched its Best Practices Awards over two decades ago, using the independent, research-backed accolades to identify market leaders.
“Being chosen for the Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices award for product leadership after rigorous analysis means we are on the right track regarding product innovation in a very competitive market,” said Orlin Radev, CEO at AMPECO.
“This award proves we are prepared for future developments both in terms of acquiring high-growth clients and entering new markets.”
The award follows AMPECO’s Petar Georgiev securing the EV Under 30 Star award at the EVIE Awards in 2021.
AMPECO is based in Europe and works worldwide, with customers in more than 45 markets, representing over 51,000 charging points. The company is expanding its local presence in North America, Asia, and the Pacific and plans to open sales and support offices in the US.
