Arenko has continued to expand its operations, signing a software license agreement with a “major” listed energy infrastructure company.
Its end-to-end trade optimisation and automated dispatch software will be used to manage the company’s – which has not been disclosed at this point – growing portfolio of battery storage over the next two years.
The customer is the first software licensee to benefit from Arenko’s technical expertise and ability to access new markets quickly said the company.
“We are delighted to sign this major software deal which opens up the global software market for Arenko,” Rupert Newland, founder and CEO of Arenko Group said.
“Our technology is enabling the flexibility required for energy companies to access and deliver all of the capabilities of their flexible assets. We look forward to delivering this contract and many others as the software partner of choice for asset owners and operators who are supporting the transition to a zero carbon grid.”
The partnership follows Arenko signing a new contract to optimise Vattenfall’s 22MW/16MWh battery, the first battery storage site to be co-located with a wind farm in the UK. In February, it also began optimising Gore Street Energy Storage Fund’s 10MW battery asset.
Earlier this year, the company became the first provider to qualify a non-Balancing Mechanism Unit while complying with Dynamic Containment’s requirement for real time monitoring.
