Nominations for this year’s Clean Energy Awards, sponsored by Trina Solar, are currently open. The inaugural Clean Energy Awards will take place on 5 October during the Clean Energy Live exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC.
This year’s ceremony, sponsored by Trina Solar, will see no fewer than 19 trophies handed out during an evening hosted by stand-up comedian Jimmy Carr.
In the run up to the 30 June nominations deadline, Clean Energy News is taking a closer look at each of this year’s categories.
Commercial Energy Management
UK businesses face a difficult time ahead as energy prices look set to increase and fluctuate, prompting many of them to take action. While on-site generation can obviously help offset against energy bills, commercial-scale energy management projects have been launched to truly understand, monitor and, ultimately manage energy consumption effectively. Policies such as the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme might have introduced a legislative need to get on top of energy, but the tangible benefits of managing that use are there for all to see.
This award will acknowledge companies who have launched energy management projects over the course of the last year with great success. Nominations should include detail of how the management scheme was launched, information regarding what the scheme entails and any available data as to the findings and savings the scheme has helped achieve.
