Charging software company Driivz is taking its products to Japan in a deal with utility Ennet Corporation.
The Israeli firm saw an investment from Centrica last year and is active in a number of markets, including the UK.
It will deliver its advanced energy management tools as part of a new smart electric vehicle (EV) charging service being launched by Ennet, EnneEV.
The service has been developed for local governments and companies to help boost e-mobility in Japan, where EVs account for 0.5% of all new cars sold, Driivz said.
It will provide its SmartChain Energy Manager and operations management modules to Ennet, enabling it to analyse the power usage patterns of its customers, identify when energy grids receive the smallest amount of demand for charging and ensure fleets are sufficiently charged.
The ability to remotely start and stop charging will also be enabled, and EV drivers will be able to access Driivz’s white-labelled app.

“Our vast experience and advanced smart energy management technology allow us to assist Ennet with integrating EV charging into the ecosystem of local power generation, batteries and demand response solutions,” he added.
Ennet has ambitions of leading the e-mobility transition in Japan. Driivz’s cloud-based platform supports over 120 types of EV chargers and includes billing capability, roaming interoperability and self-healing functionality. It is also capable of vehicle-to grid.
