EDF Energy and Dalkia’s jointly owned technical services company Imtech has acquired Breathe, a provider of Energy Performance Contracts.
In its nine years, Breathe has delivered projects worth £120m and generated over 50,000 tonnes of CO2 savings every year for its customers. It provides engineering solutions to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.
Paul Kavanagh, CEO of Imtech, commented: “Breathe brings a well-established platform to Imtech to accelerate our development in Energy Services and Low Carbon Solutions. We are looking forward to working together to add more value for our customers.”
Imtech said that the acquisition of Breathe will allow the combined company to provide more varied technologies and services, to improve customers’ energy infrastructures and help them to meet their low carbon objectives.
Gary Parke, CEO of Breathe, said that they were excited to join Imtech, and the wider group.
“We have had nearly 10 years building our business and our reputation for partnering with clients to meet their energy performance requirements. In this we have been supported by MCW, to whom we are particularly grateful.
“We now have the opportunity to continue that growth, supported by the substantial resources of Dalkia and the EDF Group and with access to technology and delivery capability. We will continue to provide the best quality EPC solutions and we will now be able to provide an extended range of energy services to a larger and more diverse client base.”
Imtech has been running for 20 years, providing mechanical and electrical engineering services, technical facilities management and systems integration. Imtech was purchased by EDF Energy and Dalkia, a subsidiary of the EDF Group, in 2017.
