The electric vehicle infrastructure industry is to gather this summer to tackle some of the most pressing themes impacting one of the great modern challenges; the electrification of transport.
The EV Infrastructure Summit, organised by Clean Energy News’ publisher Solar Media, is to be held between 3 – 4 July 2018 at London’s America Square Conference Centre, and will bring together all the major stakeholders in EV charging infrastructure.
The event is the only EV-focused event in Europe that has been specifically designed around cities, local authorities, workplaces and commercial carpark owners and operators, areas which will be integral to furthering the transition to clean transport.
The must-attend conference includes sessions on EV infrastructure investment plans, business model innovations, the impact on the grid and energy networks, and emerging technologies such as vehicle-to-grid battery storage.
Early speakers attached to the program include Andrew Burgess, associate partner for energy systems integration at Ofgem; National Grid’s Belinda Littleton; Lilli Matson, director of transport strategy, city planning at Transport for London; Rosalind Marshall, head of infrastructure at the Office for Low Emission Vehicles, and representatives from some of the country’s leading councils and local authorities.
And the event looks set to be supremely well attended, with more than 90 confirmed delegates two months from its start.
Jo Wilkinson, head of event content at Solar Media, said the event has been designed to offer much-needed guidance to organisations looking to establish EV infrastructure.
“Many local authorities have expressed interest in the provisions made for EV infrastructure in 2017 from treasury but the reality is very little of the money has been drawn down because uncertainty around how to run an effective installation project is holding back investment decisions.
“The EV Infrastructure Summit will address this inertia using case studies from successful installations, large and small and use trial data, and real life projects to answer these questions. Moreover, the event will show attendees how the roll out of a robust public charging network will impact uptake of electric vehicles by helping consumers to overcome range anxiety.”
