EV smart charging infrastructure provider Easee has launched a smart device that can charge electric vehicles (EVs) for less, using renewable energy.
The company has released the Equalizer which allows drivers to use cheap green energy from generators such as solar panels, to charge their EVs.
Other benefits of the device include:
- Dynamically managing the load between a building and Easee chargers to avoid fuse trips whilst charging
- Drivers can install the Easee One unit without distribution network operator (DNO) involvement
- Solar panels can be integrated with the Equalizer and Ease charger at anytime, for drivers that don’t yet have solar panels installed
Charlie O’Donoghue, head of product at Easee UK, commented: “UK charging regulations are the most advanced in the world, and while Active Load Management is not currently a legal requirement in the UK, we have no doubt that it will be soon. The Equalizer is simple to install and starts delivering the benefits to customers instantly.”
The announcement follows Easee’s recent partnership with EV subscription company elmo, to enable drivers to switch to a EVs with home charging included.
