Current± Briefings: Getting to grips with smart EV charging will run on 15 June.

In the next in our Current± Briefings webinar series, we’re going to chat with Shell Recharge Solutions about the benefits – and challenges – of smart electric vehicle (EV) charging at homes and businesses.

As increasing focus is placed onto the role of smart charging in the future energy system, we will take a look at current developments and upcoming regulations set to bolster smart charging across the UK.

With the government’s mandate that all private chargepoints sold in GB are smart and must meet minimum device-level requirements is to come in from 30 June, we ask how will this impact on the energy system.

Shell Recharge Solutions will join us to discuss the potential of these changes, including default off-peak charging, delayed charging and new cybersecurity requirements.

Smart charging offers a range of potential perks to both drivers and energy networks - join us on the 15 June 2022 to discuss current consumer appetite and the next steps to enabling smart charging on a wider scale. To register for the event, click here.

This webinar follows on from Current± launching the series in 2021, holding a number of sessions on topics such as the future of Dynamic Containment and vehicle-to-grid technology, while this year’s webinars have included topics such as the emerging inertia market and how the energy crisis is impacting on the Capacity Market.

The Current± Briefings: Getting to grips with smart EV charging webinar will take place at 10am BST, on 15 June 2022. To register for the event, click here.
