Current± publisher Solar Media is delighted to announce the launch of the Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards, established to celebrate the UK’s thriving EV ecosystem.
Nominations for the inaugural EVIEs open today, with 14 separate award categories in place to recognise the achievements of the EV sector in fields such as infrastructure, energy strategy, and electrification initiatives.
A complete list of categories and eligibility criteria, as well as details on how to enter, can be found here.
Nominations are to remain open until 22 November 2019, after which a two-month long judging process will take place. An esteemed, independent panel of judges will run the rule over all entries before deciding on a shortlist, which will then be further scrutinised before winners and special commendations are decided.
The EVIEs judging panel will be confirmed on Current± in due course.
Shortlists will be published exclusively on Current± on 22 February 2020, before a glittering gala dinner ceremony to take place in central London on the evening of 28 April 2020, coinciding with the Everything EV World Congress, which takes place between 28 – 29 April 2020.
Matt Wallhead, Everything EV portfolio director at Solar Media, said: “Unrivalled Innovation and the creation of new partnerships are vital ingredients in the decarbonisation of road transport.
“With giant steps being made across industry and government, we feel the time is right to shine a light on the most progressive and innovative individuals and organisations who are truly breaking new ground and making the era of EV a reality. The EVIEs will be a true celebration of these trailblazers and a night not to be missed.”
Liam Stoker, editor at Current±, added: “Having organised the popular Solar Power Portal Awards for five years, we’ve an excellent track record of recognising some of the stellar work of the UK’s clean economy and this will continue with the EVIEs.”
A range of sponsorship opportunities are available for the evening, with packages available to suit every budget. More details surrounding EVIEs sponsorship are available here, or by contacting Matt Wallhead.
Solar Media is also accepting early table bookings as of today. Tickets to the inaugural EVIEs are expected to sell out and interested attendees are encouraged to book early to guarantee their seat.
Over the coming weeks Current± will be publishing a series of articles detailing the 2020 EVIEs categories in full, providing hints for would-be entrants and discussing some of the sector’s early progress.
