OVO Energy is boosting its tech credentials with the appointment of two new senior hires.
David Allison joins the team as technology director, having previously held the role of senior director of technology at Hotels.com.
Allison is to lead the OVO’s technology team with the intention of driving the use of technology to deliver market-leading experiences for OVO’s customers.
OVO’s second hire – Rich Jones, joining as product director – also comes from outside the energy industry, with Jones having previously held the role of director of digital product management at online fashion retailer ASOS.
Jones will be focusing on the development of market-leading product strategy and delivery for OVO’s retail brands, leading a team in the creation of digital product experiences.
Adrian Letts, CEO of OVO Energy, said the “wealth of experience” will help OVO to push boundaries and take the firm in “exciting new directions”.
“We understand that innovation in tech plays an important part in helping us become more sustainable, and this has huge and exciting implications for OVO and the industry,” Letts continued.
OVO is increasingly making plays in the energy technology market, having invested in energy tech start-up Electron earlier this year, as well as counting energy tech firm Kaluza as part of the OVO Group.
