Electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint installation software company Jumptech has signed a new partnership with OVO Energy.
The supplier will be able to use the software to increase the number of chargepoint installs it manages. It will allow the company – the third biggest supplier in Britain – to manage different types of charger installations and streamline operations.
Additionally, the platform will allow OVO to receive work from chargepoint manufacturers that use Jumptech, and in turn pass on the jobs to their preferred installers.
“At OVO we’re extremely committed to helping our customers transition to electric vehicles,” said Alex Thwaites, head of Zero Carbon Living, OVO.
“Jumptech plays a big part in this as it provides the technology platform to ensure we can install efficiently and compliantly at scale.”
In 2021, the supplier launched its OVO Drive division, to help “lead the way” in the EV market. Following on from this it introduced its Drive + Anytime tariff, offering its customers a rate of 5p/kWh regardless of the time of day they plug in.
Jumptech’s platform will automate customer communications taking into consideration where in the nation the job is based, allowing OVO to provide a nationwide installation service.
This is the latest in a stream of partnerships signed by Jumptech in 2022, including with EO Charging, Sevadis, ScottishPower, Hypervolt RAW Charging, and YESSS EV & Energy.
It has also expanded into the Netherlands this year thanks to a partnership with chargepoint installer VEBE, building on its expansion into Australia in 2021 via a partnership with charging specialist EVSE.
Beyond this, it has integrated its installer management platform with ev.energy’s EV owner smart charging software platform, while Indra, Easee UK, ProjectEV, TSG UK, Fulcrum, BP Pulse, Pod Point and Good Energy have all adopted the software since the company was launched in 2018.
Jumptech CEO and founder, Phil Nunn said: “We’re delighted to be working with OVO Energy and supporting the delivery of installing EV charge points across the UK.”
