Minister for investment Gerry Grimstone has lauded the NeuConnect interconnector being developed between the UK and Germany as “a vital contribution to the UK’s green ambitions”.
Funding for the On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS) will continue into 2021/22, as local authorities are urged to take advantage of a new £20 million funding boost.
The UK will need to install public electric vehicle (EV) chargepoints five times faster than the current rate over the next decade, with government tenders recommended to support this.
Battery storage was called into action following the IFA2 interconnector with France – which went live late last month – tripping on Friday (29 January).
