Richard Bourne, who was appointed interim CEO of Zap-Map in 2021, is now to permanently hold the role.
He is to lead the execution of Zap-Map’s strategy, which includes on-going development of core products and international expansion.
Alongside this, Nigel Pocklington, CEO of majority shareholder in Zap-Map Good Energy has been appointed as chair of Zap-Map. Pocklington is taking over from Good Energy founder and non-executive director Juliet Davenport, who is stepping down from the Zap-Map board.
“The past year has seen great progress in the adoption of electric vehicles and as the EV revolution accelerates even faster, Zap-Map’s core mission of making charging an EV as simple as possible has never been more important,” Bourne said, adding that the coming years will be “very exciting” for Zap-Map.
Over the past year, Zap-Map has launched its Zap-Map Plus and Premium subscription services, including support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while its Zap-Pay payment interoperability service saw partnerships signed with companies including MFG EV Power, GeniePoint and Connected Kerb.
The company also partnered carbon data science firm Advanced Infrastructure for the development of a low carbon route planner.
