Ninety-five charities and non-profit organisations have signed an open letter to the chancellor Jeremy Hunt MP, calling for a social tariff to be implemented in the energy market to assist vulnerable households.
Citizens Advice has found that digitally disadvantaged consumers are at much higher risk of loyalty penalties and could be left behind by service changes in the energy market.
Charities have called on the government to cut energy bills for the most vulnerable households, as they warn 8.5 million UK households face fuel poverty.
