The secretary of state for energy security and net zero, Ed Miliband, has officially permitted Ofgem to over-allocate vouchers for the boiler upgrade scheme (BUS) by up to £50 million in this financial year.
Ofgem, the UK energy regulator, has released its annual report on the boiler upgrade scheme (BUS) showing that 23,875 vouchers were redeemed from its launch until the end of March 2024.
While boiler upgrade scheme (BUS) applications in June were down 10% on the previous month, the number was up 81% compared to the same month of the year before.
Analysis conducted by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) has found that Cornwall leads all other local authorities in MCS small-scale renewable energy installations.
