Ofgem has appointed British Gas as the supplier of last resort (SoLR) for Neon Reef Limited and Social Energy Supply Ltd, taking on approximately 35,500 domestic customers.
Neon Reef Limited and Social Energy Supply Ltd have become the latest suppliers to collapse, leaving around 30,000 and 5,500 domestic customers respectively.
Five more suppliers have defaulted out of Elexon’s Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC), as energy suppliers continue to struggle amid market pressures.
Ofgem has issued two energy suppliers with final orders and five suppliers with provisional orders over a total of £17.9 million of outstanding Renewables Obligation (RO) payments.
