Tariff price cap

The Energy Price Guarantee announced by Prime Minister Liz Truss as part of a package to help mitigate the UK’s ongoing energy crisis could cost as much as £140 billion.

​Ofgem has brought in two new measures to help stabilise the supplier market in the wake of the slew of supplier collapses in 2021.

​EDF has become the first supplier to raise its energy prices, following Ofgem announcing an increase in the price cap at the beginning of this month.

​The default tariff price cap is set to increase by £66 from April 2021 as wholesale power prices jump.
