Private equity investor Bowmark Capital is buying out energy research, data and analysis company Cornwall Insight.
“We have followed Cornwall Insight for several years and are impressed by its growth and development under the leadership of Gareth and his team,” said Bowmark partner Roy Mani.
“The quality of Cornwall’s products and services is widely recognised across the energy industry, and we look forward to supporting the company as it helps its customers navigate the global transition to net zero.”
Cornwall Insight has seen annual revenue growth of over 20%, as it continues to expand its customer base and launch new products and services for the energy sector. It has over 400 customers including investors, generators, suppliers, brokers, governments and corporates.
Amongst other areas, its analysis includes price cap forecasts, with its most recent predicting that energy bills could rise to nearly £3,000 over the upcoming winter period.
Research from Cornwall Insight also covers domestic supply chains and energy suppliers, and battery energy storage and its role in the transition to net zero.
“Bowmark’s deep understanding of our sector and its grasp of what we are seeking to achieve strategically and culturally made it a natural partner for our business as we seek to accelerate our growth,” said Cornwall Insight chief executive Gareth Miller.
“They bring significant experience of partnering with growing businesses and we are really looking forward to what we will achieve together.”
