BP has launched BP Pulse, the new name for both BP Chargemaster and the Polar network.
As part of this rebrand, the websites for the two have been merged into a single BP Pulse website, as has the mobile apps.
Its subscription scheme will continue to operate, enabling access to BP Pulse public chargepoints for £7.85 per month, and throughout November, all 50kW Ultracharge units were upgraded with a contactless payment terminal and improved software.
Matteo de Renzi, UK CEO of BP Pulse, said: “As BP Pulse, we continue to offer customers convenient charging solutions at home, on the go and for businesses.
“We are focused on making EV charging fast and convenient, and having recently become the UK’s largest ultra-fast public charging operator, this remains the priority for expansion, with a target of 700 ultra-fast chargers available by 2025 and 1,400 by 2030.”
In October, BP Chargemaster announced it had secured a “largest deal of its kind in the UK” to supply 1,000 electric vehicle (EV) chargers to Police Scotland in a contract worth up to £21 million.
BP acquired the EV charging company in 2018 in a £130 million deal.
