Depsys – which focuses on analytics and intelligent management solutions for electrical grids – has hired Philippe Grosjean as chief technology officer.
The appointment signals the company’s continued growth intentions, and follows it having won several contracts with what it described as major operators throughout Europe and Asia since its last financing round in 2019. Additionally, depsys is actively pursuing strategic partnerships to enter new regions.
Grosjean is to be based at the company’s headquarters in Switzerland, and will be responsible for consolidating depsys’ existing offer while also helming the evolution of its technology ecosystem.
Depsys has a goal of providing advanced real-time data-based insights for grid managers to better understand, control and evolve networks in light of increasing pressure points facing grids. The company is now preparing to launch a new fundraising round with a focus on the Nordics.
“We are going to align our R&D, engineering and industrials processes to best answer distribution system operator’s needs as they navigate through major market transformations.
“The challenges they face offer a lot of opportunities for innovative companies like depsys to support them effectively,” said Grosjean.
Last year, Anja Langer, chief commercial officer at depsys, took an in depth look at the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic was creating for the energy sector for Current±.
