Dan Hopkinson, who became acting CEO of ElectraLink in April when Stuart Lacey stepped down, is now the permanent CEO of the company.
The appointment comes after a competitive recruitment process, with the ElectraLink board having considered both internal and external candidates.
Hopkinson joined ElectraLink in March 2016, holding the role of director of data and transformation prior to being acting CEO. In this role, he re-procured and delivered the new cloud-based Data Transfer Service and led on the transformation of ElectraLink into GB’s Energy Market Data Hub.
Hopkinson said he is “grateful and excited” for the opportunity to continue leading ElectraLink.
“At ElectraLink, we see our role as facilitating a data-driven market through the delivery of data, data infrastructure and data governance to all stakeholders. We are passionate about innovation in this area and will support all our customers and stakeholders by providing access to ElectraLink’s skills and experience,” he said.
This year also saw Jonathan Purdy appointed as chairman following Kevin Lee retiring, with Purdy having been a non-executive director on the ElectraLink Board as well as income compliance manager at UK Power Networks.
