Electrical manufacturer Legrand has strengthened its lighting control business by acquiring the London-based CP Electronics.
The acquisition will see Legrand bolster its position in the commercial market where CP Electronics has been particularly active, installing energy efficient lighting systems for a wide range of businesses and public buildings.
A statement issued by Legrand said that the purchase would boost its presence in a market “driven by increased demand for energy saving solutions”.
CP Electronics will now form a business energy controls division fronted by the company’s existing management team, but ultimately reporting to Legrand CEO Tony Greig.
CP has fitted lighting control systems on a number of prominent buildings across the UK including the 122 Leadenhall Street skyscraper more commonly referred to as The Cheesegrater, Channel 4’s London headquarters, Newcastle Airport and Bank of New York’s offices on Canary Wharf.
Other clients of CP include Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club, Oxford University’s Pembroke College and Rolex.
