Pod Point is to be Groupe PSA’s sole EV charging provider, signing a two-year deal with the car manufacturer.
It is to become the exclusive EV charge point supplier for the Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles and Vauxhall brands in the UK.
Pod Point is also to work with Groupe PSA’s leasing arm, Free2Move Lease, as its preferred UK fleet charging provider.
As part of the partnership, the companies are offering the first 500 retail customers for Groupe PSA’s three newest EV models free Pod Point home chargers with standard installation.
All Pod Point chargers bought through Groupe PSA’s UK dealer network will come with a five-year warranty, an additional two years to the standard warranty.
The new vehicles – the Peugeot e-208, the DS 3 Crossback E-Tense and the Vauxhall Corsa-e – all come with a 50kWh battery with a range of over 200 miles. They are currently available to order, with deliveries to begin in January 2020 on the first two models and April 2020 on the latter.
Pod Point and Groupe PSA have worked together in the past, with Pod Point selected as the preferred charge point supplier for Peugeot and Citroën.
Erik Fairbairn, CEO of Pod Point, said: “We’re delighted to continue working with Groupe PSA and the expansion of our partnership is testament to the reliability and ease of use of Pod Point’s smart charging points as well as our dedication to outstanding customer service.”
Pod Point has made several supply deals in previous years, including a three-year supply deal with construction group Kier in 2018. It also partnered Mitie this year to install 800 chargers and collaborated with Volkswagon and Tesco for 2,400 EV charging bays at the supermarket’s sites.
