The results of Ireland’s third Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) auction selected 3 onshore wind projects, totalling 148MW, as provisional winners.
Plans have been unveiled that will see the Irish energy grid directly connected to continental Europe for the first time via a 575km interconnector running through the Celtic Sea.
EirGrid together with Ireland’s minister for environment, climate, communications and transport, Eamon Ryan TD, has unveiled 40 new grid infrastructure projects, representing a total investment of over £85 million (€1 billion).
