Heat pump supplier Daikin UK and Quantum Group have formed a partnership to roll out bespoke Renewable Training Facilities at around 150 further education colleges that already offer built environment study programmes.
With the UK government target of installing 600,000 heat pumps a year by 2028 fast approaching, the heat pump industry is aiming to fill skills shortages with a new apprenticeship which could be ready to start later this year.
A campaign has been launched to reach 30,000 certified heat pump installers (of which the UK is roughly 28,500 short) by 2028 and address the nation’s troubling green skills shortage.
