Heat Pump Federation

An inquiry held by the Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee has concluded that the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is failing to deliver on its objectives, as the take-up of grants remains “disappointingly low.”

Decarbonising residential heating is a difficult task due to the scale, complexity and cost of the challenge, the BEIS select committee has found.

​Environmental levies should be moved off of electricity bills to make sure it's always cheaper to run a heat pump than a boiler according to business and civil society groups.

​The Heat Pump Federation is urging for “consistency of policy” as the impact on installers is highlighted.

The government has restated its commitment to heat pumps following the most recent Future Homes Standard consultation.
