The National Audit Office (NAO) has released a report on the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s (DESNZ) progress on deploying heat pumps to decarbonise home heating.

The National Audit Office (NAO) has published an update on the rollout of smart meters showing that the UK has fallen well behind its original target of completing the rollout by 2019.
Consumers will have to foot a bill of around £1.5 billion over a 15 year period as a result of government changes to the Contracts for Difference mechanism which resulted in higher strike prices in the September 2017 auction.
