A new milestone has been reached in the smart meter rollout, with 17 million installations since the programme began.
The smart meter installation rate dipped below 200,000 in August, ending a five-month run.
Suppliers installed 760,000 domestic smart meters in Q1 2021, taking the number of smart and advanced meters in homes and small businesses to 24.2 million.
Smart meter installations have jumped 34% month-on-month according to ElectraLink, with 219,000 installations recorded in March 2021.
