Spanish utility Iberdrola has announced the closure of its acquisition of 88% of Electricity North West (ENW), making the UK its primary market in terms of network asset base value.
Iberdrola, a Spanish electric utility company, has signed an agreement to acquire 88% of UK network operator Electricity North West (ENW) for an equity value of £2.1 billion.
The latest stage of work on the Eastland Scheme, funded by a £14 million investment into Manchester’s electricity grid is set to begin this month and take under two months to complete.
Electricity North West has revealed that the aggregate capacity of new connections has increased 10-fold from just under 400MW in 2020 to more than 4GW this year.
